Reasons and Goals for his explorations
1. The whole reason he was interested in exploration was when he was sent on a brief diplomatic mission to Paris (by order of King Louie). This sparked his fascination and he immediately began to love the craft.
2. The first expedition he did was on behalf of Alonso de Ojeda who ordered him to navigate four ships under the flag of Spain. They left from Cadiz and sailed the mainland of Central America
3. A goal for these expeditions was to find a westward way to Asia, and look where that has gotten us! Although Christopher Columbus did sail to America first, Vespucci was the one who thought it was a "new world".

Positive Impacts
1. He gave America it's name, replace the ca with a go
2. He discovered South America for the second time and North America for the third time and the "new world" for the first time!
3. Amerigo Vespucci realized the continent or "new world" he was in wasn't Asia. He verified this by sailing south four hundred miles within the southern most tip of South America (Tierra del Fuego). He then realized he was much farther south than anyone had ever guessed. This is a positive impact because he proved to people that this continent wasn't Asia, steering other explorers who tried setting out to Asia.
Negative Impacts!
1. He took 200 Native Americans back with him to become slaves, although he did write about their indigenous culture in his letter which taught us a lot we know about Native Americans today
2. Ultimately led to the growth of the Americas, which although it spread culture and food, it also shared diseases and killed off almost all of the Native Americans (Christopher Columbus is also responsible)
3. He may not have written correct dates or even discovered the Americas according to conspirers who claim his famous letters about America are fake, which backs up a lot of evidence that they actually are fake.
